Precautions for disassembly and replacement of the internal and external fuel filter elements

The fuel filter needs to be replaced regularly, and there are many problems that need to be paid attention to when replacing the built-in fuel filter. First of all, replacing the built-in fuel filter requires removing the fuel pump assembly from the fuel tank, so it is usually necessary to disconnect the negative electrode of the battery before proceeding. At the same time, put a fire extinguisher near the construction site to avoid fire.

Secondly, when reinstalling the fuel pump, it needs to be installed according to the position before disassembly to ensure that the fuel pump is in the correct position in the fuel tank, so as to avoid the limited movement of the fuel level sensor and the inaccurate fuel indication. In addition, the relevant sealing ring must be replaced during installation. After installation, the vehicle should also be filled with fuel and checked for leaks.

It is much simpler to replace the external fuel filter. It is mainly necessary to pay attention to the installation direction of some filters. Once the reverse filter element is installed, there will be structural damage inside. When encountering problems that are difficult to disassemble and assemble, do not blindly use brute force to avoid damage to the fuel pipe fixing clips and oil leakage. In addition, when removing the external fuel filter, a clean towel can be used to cover the nozzle when the pipeline is disconnected, so as to avoid potential safety hazards caused by fuel spraying when the pipeline is disconnected. It is also possible to release the pressure earlier by disconnecting the fuel pump and then starting the vehicle to consume the remaining gasoline in the line. Wait for the engine to stop, indicating that the fuel line is exhausted.
