The sequence of operations during the filter 6W.55.388.20 on KAMAZ-5490:
- make sure that the engine is stopped and cooled;
- disconnect the connector of the water sensor;
- open the air -outing cork in the lid;
- unscrew the drain valve by 2-3 revolutions and drain the fuel from the filter;
- wrap the drain valve with a torque of 1.5 – 2.0 N · m;
- unscrew the filter cap and remove the filter element from it;
- replace the sealing rubber ring of the filter cap;
- grease the sealing rings of the cap and the filter element with motor oil;
- install a filter element in the cap and wrap the cap in the filter case with a moment of 20+5 N · m;
- Connect the connector of the sensor of the presence of water;
- pump the system using the fuel pumping pump, having previously released the air from the air traffic jam and wrap the aerial traffic jam with a moment of 1.0 – 2.0 N · m;
- Run the engine, make sure of the tightness of the fuel system.

The use of the FGOT 6W.55.388.20 on cars KAMAZ-5490 allows:
- ensure the stability of fuel pumping with a manual fuel pumping pump at a temperature of the environment to minus 50C (due to the use of the piston structure pump);
- eliminate cases of leakage (clogging) of the FGOT valves (the valves structurally are installed in the zone of circulated fuel circulation);
- increase the interservice interval of the filter element to 80,000 km (for the 1st category of operation);
- reduce environmental pollution (a replaced filter element is made of easily utilized materials).
