Product Description:

A fuel water separator is a device that works to ensure clean fuel is delivered to the engine. Properly speaking, a fuel water separator is a small filtering device used to remove the water from the diesel fuel before it reaches to the sensitive parts of the engine.

The separator’s purpose is to filter out any impurities like water from your fuel before it goes into the engine. It sits in the intake end of the fuel line so it can use the suction from the fuel going through the engine.

The gas filter removes the particulate matter (dirt) from the gasoline! The fuel/ water separator allows the flow when to slow going through the separator and the difference in weight allows the water to settle in the bottom of the bowl and the gas goes to the engine.

A fuel water separator not only helps to remove contaminants and debris from your fuel before it reaches the engine, it also removes any water found in your fuel. As fuel enters the fuel water separator, it passes through a filter media (typically a 10 micron fuel filter water separator).

How Often Should You Change a Fuel Water Separator?

You don’t need to replace the entire fuel water separator, but the filters should be replaced occasionally. 1-2 times per year should be sufficient to ensure proper engine performance.

A full water separator means that water is now flowing into your fuel system. This water causes corrosion throughout the system including the internal transfer pump.
