Oil filter

The oil filter, also known as the machine filter, is located in the engine part lubrication system. The upstream of the oil filter is the oil pump, and the downstream is the parts of the engine that need to be lubricated. The oil filter filters out harmful impurities in the oil from the oil pan, and supplies the crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft, supercharger, piston ring and other motion pairs with clean oil to play the role of lubrication, cooling and cleaning, thereby extending the life of these parts.

Development of oil filter

Before the 1980s, most domestic engines used replaceable filters. The filter with this structure puts the filter element and other parts, such as springs, sealing rings, etc., into a metal shell, and connects and fixes the shell filter element and the like with a metal filter seat through a pull rod. The advantage of the replaceable machine filter is that it has low cost of use and only needs regular maintenance and replacement of the filter element; the disadvantage is that there are too many sealing points, maintenance and replacement of the filter element may miss parts, which is easy to cause loopholes, and replacement is troublesome. Since the early 1980s, spin-on filters have gradually been approved and selected by domestic OEMs.
