Function of oil filter
The function of the oil filter is to filter out the harmful impurities in the oil from the oil pan, and supply the crankshaft, connecting rod, camshaft, supercharger, piston ring and other moving pairs with clean oil, which plays the role of lubrication, cooling and cleaning. , thereby extending the life of these components.
Oil filter structure
According to the structure, the oil filter can be divided into replaceable type, spin-on type and centrifugal type; according to the arrangement in the system, it can be divided into full-flow type and split-flow type. The filter materials used in machine filtration include filter paper, felt, metal mesh, non-woven fabric, etc.
Machine filtration development history
Before the 1980s, most domestic engines used replaceable filters. The filter of this structure is to put the filter element and other parts, such as springs, sealing rings, etc., into a metal shell, and connect the shell filter element and the like to a metal filter seat through a pull rod. The advantage of the replaceable filter is that the use cost is low, and it only needs to maintain and replace the filter element regularly. Since the early 1980s, spin-on filters have been gradually approved and selected by domestic OEMs. The feature of the spin-on filter is that it is equipped with a check valve, a bypass valve, and only one sealing point. It can be replaced as a whole, which greatly improves the sealing performance and is easy to replace. The filter element material is mostly imported filter paper, so the filtration efficiency is high. , Small flow resistance, long life.
